HOT DREAMS STRONGER

‘Stronger’ from London four-piece Hot Dreams is a foot-stomping ode to indie-rock, that was written with the intention of breaking down the stigma of mental illness, and especially to encourage men to open up more. As the band explain: "Stronger is all about the isolation that accompanies sadness. It’s also a conversation on mental health issues and how the emotions involved are extremely complex, whether you are affected first hand or not." The lyrics are full of deep understanding - “You’re far too young / To carry all the things you have become” - these words come as an outstretched hand, letting you know that you’re not alone. Kai Fennel’s vocals rise majestically up with the instrumentation courtesy of band members Cam Fyall, Aaron Clarke and Alex Bloomfield creating an intense sense of yearning and also hope. As Hot Dreams further share: "This is a very personal subject to us, so we felt it was our duty to put everything we had into this song. We spent a long time working on the lyrics, the melody and the chord structures. We then spent a long time recording different versions of it at our studio in East Sussex, to finally land on something we believe truly represents how we feel." - Hannah Thacker
